В ответ фирма всё-таки передала 1,2 тонны штукатурки, после чего требования об увольнении были отменены.
На суде начальник заявлял, что действовал исключительно для блага учреждения и ничего не забрал для себя. Но суд признал его виновным в превышении полномочий и приговорил к 3 годам в колонии общего режима с лишением права занимать госдолжности на 2 года.
