Цуканова заявила, что не скрывалась от следствия, но никто не пытался с ней связаться и не присылал повесток на допрос перед тем, как объявить в розыск. 26 февраля она сообщила, что в отношении нее завели дело об уклонении от обязанностей «иностранного агента» (часть 2 статьи 330.1 УК).
