Участок дорожной сети между Новоазовском и Мариуполем был досрочно введен в эксплуатацию — более чем на год раньше запланированного срока. Трасса является стратегически важной, так как входит в состав сухопутного коридора до Крыма и обеспечивает значительную часть экономики Херсонской и Запорожской областей.
Модернизация трассы позволит увеличить пропускную способность трассы до 25 тысяч грузовых и пассажирских автомобилей в сутки.
