Городская доска почёта в начале 50-х годов располагалась на месте сегодняшней пешеходной зоны набережной, в районе сувенирных палаток.

В 60-х годах площадь Ленина приобретает новый облик. А рядом с памятником Ленину, слева от трибуны, появляется новая доска почёта.

С реконструкцией площади и сквера у театра Пушкина в 70-х годах, доска почёта остаётся на площади Ленина, но радикально меняет свой вид и переносится в сквер Мира.

С комплексной реконструкцией улицы Ленина 1999 года, городская доска почёта вновь меняет своё месторасположение, и переносится на Ленинскую, к фасаду театра Пушкина, а силуэтом остаётся похожа на доску почёта из 70 – 80-х годов.

В 2024 году городская доска почёта вновь меняет свой облик, оставаясь на своём месте, у театра Пушкина.
