В честь именитого земляка в сквере героев прошёл торжественный митинг. Участники церемонии возложили цветы и почтили память генерала авиации.

В местном доме культуры открылась выставка детских рисунков «Боевая вертикаль» и была организована экскурсия «Боевой и жизненный путь Г.А. Речкалова». Завершилась череда памятных событий праздничным концертом «Солдат неба».
