The divide today is largely due to decentralization of media. No millennial I know (or Zoomer) watches/listens to mainstream networks nor cares.
It’s difficult for them to shake the whole “whippersnapper” thing and deal with the fact that these naughty fellows are not pipsqueaks, they’re men with families, men with skin in the game who are tired of being lied to, whether it’s purposeful or through ignorance.
