Хищение электроэнергии, как сообщается, «осуществлялось в промышленном масштабе». По оценкам энергетиков, ущерб превысил 197 млн руб.
При проведении обысков изъяты 9 трансформаторов 10/0,4 кВ, вакуумный разъединитель и 3 225 устройств для майнинга. Фермы были разбросаны по городу — вблизи очистных сооружений, в лесном массиве, возле городской свалки и в частном секторе. Владелец ферм задержан, в отношении него возбуждено уголовное дело.
