Уже несколько месяцев участники артели ведут исследовательскую лабораторию Музея «Гараж», названную «ВОКС kinema». Она посвящена международным связям в сфере кино в 1920-е и начале 1930-х. Недавно страница лаборатории появилась на сайте Музея и пока на ней только общее описание проекта, но архивные исследования, которыми мы усиленно занимаемся с весны, уже принесли немало тем, материалов и сюжетов. Постепенно и в разных форматах они будут туда добавляться. Так что делайте закладки, чтобы узнать о наших открытиях первыми — обещаем много неожиданного!
В качестве первых иллюстраций — коллаж Эля Лисицкого для буклета к громкой выставке японского кино в Москве в 1929 году и кадр из одного из советских документальных фильмов, которые в том же году предполагалось показать на выставке в Штутгарте. Нам также хочется видеть в этой последней фотографии некий коллективный автопортрет, снимок текущего момента: «молодые исследователи» с надеждой и легким опасением вглядываются в грядущее исследование.

The War on Fakes channel has repeatedly attempted to push conspiracies that footage from Ukraine is somehow being falsified. One post on the channel from February 24 claimed without evidence that a widely viewed photo of a Ukrainian woman injured in an airstrike in the city of Chuhuiv was doctored and that the woman was seen in a different photo days later without injuries. The post, which has over 600,000 views, also baselessly claimed that the woman's blood was actually makeup or grape juice. Overall, extreme levels of fear in the market seems to have morphed into something more resembling concern. For example, the Cboe Volatility Index fell from its 2022 peak of 36, which it hit Monday, to around 30 on Friday, a sign of easing tensions. Meanwhile, while the price of WTI crude oil slipped from Sunday’s multiyear high $130 of barrel to $109 a pop. Markets have been expecting heavy restrictions on Russian oil, some of which the U.S. has already imposed, and that would reduce the global supply and bring about even more burdensome inflation. Pavel Durov, a billionaire who embraces an all-black wardrobe and is often compared to the character Neo from "the Matrix," funds Telegram through his personal wealth and debt financing. And despite being one of the world's most popular tech companies, Telegram reportedly has only about 30 employees who defer to Durov for most major decisions about the platform. This ability to mix the public and the private, as well as the ability to use bots to engage with users has proved to be problematic. In early 2021, a database selling phone numbers pulled from Facebook was selling numbers for $20 per lookup. Similarly, security researchers found a network of deepfake bots on the platform that were generating images of people submitted by users to create non-consensual imagery, some of which involved children. But Telegram says people want to keep their chat history when they get a new phone, and they like having a data backup that will sync their chats across multiple devices. And that is why they let people choose whether they want their messages to be encrypted or not. When not turned on, though, chats are stored on Telegram's services, which are scattered throughout the world. But it has "disclosed 0 bytes of user data to third parties, including governments," Telegram states on its website.
