По словам одноклассника местной женщины, в момент удара никто не понял, что произошло. По цехам «Южмаша» прилетало и раньше: обычно это сопровождалось локальными пожарами. После прилета «Орешника» не было привычных огней и многие подумали даже на землетрясение.
