قال تعالى: {وجحدوا بها واستيقنتها أنفسهم ظلما وعلوا}. أكثر الذين يعارضون الحق يعلمون أنه حق لكن ينكرونه بغيا وتكبرا عليه وعلى أهله، لا لخفائه والتباس حججه. فالنبي ﷺ كان أكمل الناس عقلا، وأفصحهم لسانا، وأحسنهم خلقا، وأحرصهم على هداية الخلق، ومؤيدا بالوحي، ومع ذلك؛ كفر به وعاداه وحاربه أمم من الكفار؛ فضلال كثير من الناس لخبث نفوسهم، واتباع أهوائهم؛ لهذا لا ينتفعون بحجة ولابيان، ولا تخويف ووعظ؛ {ولو جاءتهم كل آية حتى يروا العذاب الأليم}.
فإذا بُين لهم الحق وكشفت دلائله {فلا تذهب نفسك عليهم حسرات} إن لم يؤمنوا!
