Бахрушинский театральный музей специально для петербургской выставки «Великий Карл! К 225-летию со дня рождения!» достал из запасников портрет невероятно популярной в свое время актрисы Екатерины Семеновой.

На момент написания Брюлловым портрета Семенова была овдовевшей княгиней Гагариной и проживала в Москве. К тому времени она уже десять лет не выходила на сцену. Брюллов написал стареющую актрису в фас, хотя в профиль она напоминала античные камеи. Пышный полукруглый головной убор, светлое платье и мантилья делают ее больше величественной барыней, чем просто театральной актрисой.

In 2016, Forbes’ Michael Solomon described Pavel Durov (pictured, below) as the “Mark Zuckerberg of Russia.” The gold standard of encryption, known as end-to-end encryption, where only the sender and person who receives the message are able to see it, is available on Telegram only when the Secret Chat function is enabled. Voice and video calls are also completely encrypted. Either way, Durov says that he withdrew his resignation but that he was ousted from his company anyway. Subsequently, control of the company was reportedly handed to oligarchs Alisher Usmanov and Igor Sechin, both allegedly close associates of Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
