В результате так называемой реконструкции Садового кольца в те же 1930-е годы дом братьев Видоновых был капитально перестроен. До нашего времени дошла безликая и абсолютно пустая коробка времен борьбы с излишествами в архитектуре. Кажется, в ней какое-то время сидело министерство оборонной промышленности СССР.
