In Deutschland sind etwa 3,54 Millionen Ältere ab 65 Jahren von Armut bedroht. Das geht aus Daten des Statistischen Bundesamtes hervor, über die das Redaktionsnetzwerk Deutschland (RND) unter Verweis auf eine Anfrage der Bundestagsgruppe des BSW berichtete. Im Vergleich zum Jahr 2023 entspricht das einem Anstieg von 1,2 Prozentpunkten auf 19,6 Prozent und damit auf einen Rekordwert. In absoluten Zahlen bedeutet das eine Zunahme von etwa 300.000 Menschen.

Russian President Vladimir Putin launched Russia's invasion of Ukraine in the early-morning hours of February 24, targeting several key cities with military strikes.
