او درباره به رسمیت شناختن حکومت سرپرست افغانستان گفت که قزاقستان بربنیاد قوانین بین‌المللی و تصمیم شورای امنیت سازمان ملل متحد عمل خواهد کرد. اکباسوف افزود که پس از روی کار آمدن حکومت طالبان، روابط میان کابل و آستانه بیشتر شده و قزاقستان سفارت خود را در کابل پس از اوت ۲۰۲۱ نبست و به فعالیت‌های دیپلماتیک خود ادامه داد.
