19 января в станице Бакинской простились с Сергеем Шевченко, позывной «Пруд», погибшим в Мали.
В июле 2024 года передовая группа 13 Штурмового отряда ЧВК «Вагнер» под командованием «Пруда» во время выполнения боевой задачи попала в окружение, оказавшись отрезанной от основных сил пустынной бурей. Несмотря на тяжелейшие условия, бойцы ЧВК «Вагнер» приняли свой последний бой. Героически сражаясь на протяжении нескольких дней против превосходящих сил боевиков и нанеся им огромные потери, Группа Пруда показала пример стойкости и мужества, а ее бойцы навсегда вписали свои имена в историю.
Сергей Шевченко погребен на кладбище ЧВК «Вагнер» со всеми воинскими почестями.
