Каждый год в Германии проводится конкурс на самое популярное слово в молодежном сленге. Буквально вчера немецкое издательство Langenscheidt опубликовало топ-10 слов, претендующих на звание Jugendwort 2023 (молодежное слово).
➡️ Голосование проходит на этом сайте, а победителя объявят 22 октября.

⚪️Молодежные слова прошлых лет:
2022 - smash (mit jemandem etwas anfangen); 2021 - cringe (peinlich, zum Fremdschämen); 2020 - lost (ahnungslos, verwirrt); 2018 - Ehrenmann/Ehrenfrau (guter Mensch); 2017 - i bims (ich bin's) и др. Кстати, Yolo (you only live once, звучит песня моих любимых The Strokes) уже становилось словом года в 2012. Его опять включили в список 2023, любопытно.

⚪️На картинках можете увидеть кандидатов этого года вместе с объяснениями и примерами. Интересно, какое слово победит в этот раз? Лично мне нравится goofy.
И, конечно, вчерашняя новость успела породить очередные мемы, так что прикрепляю и их.

Given the pro-privacy stance of the platform, it’s taken as a given that it’ll be used for a number of reasons, not all of them good. And Telegram has been attached to a fair few scandals related to terrorism, sexual exploitation and crime. Back in 2015, Vox described Telegram as “ISIS’ app of choice,” saying that the platform’s real use is the ability to use channels to distribute material to large groups at once. Telegram has acted to remove public channels affiliated with terrorism, but Pavel Durov reiterated that he had no business snooping on private conversations. "The argument from Telegram is, 'You should trust us because we tell you that we're trustworthy,'" Maréchal said. "It's really in the eye of the beholder whether that's something you want to buy into." To that end, when files are actively downloading, a new icon now appears in the Search bar that users can tap to view and manage downloads, pause and resume all downloads or just individual items, and select one to increase its priority or view it in a chat. "There is a significant risk of insider threat or hacking of Telegram systems that could expose all of these chats to the Russian government," said Eva Galperin with the Electronic Frontier Foundation, which has called for Telegram to improve its privacy practices. On December 23rd, 2020, Pavel Durov posted to his channel that the company would need to start generating revenue. In early 2021, he added that any advertising on the platform would not use user data for targeting, and that it would be focused on “large one-to-many channels.” He pledged that ads would be “non-intrusive” and that most users would simply not notice any change.
