Первым заведующим кафедрой был Александр Станиславович Догель — прозектор Казанского университета. Он собрал уникальную коллекцию гистологических препаратов и рисунков по всем разделам общего и частного курсов гистологии, которые сохранились в прекрасном состоянии.

Так много и с таким упорством, как на кафедре гистологии, я не рисовал никогда )
