Кажется, я замораживаю уже начатый англоязычный роман (полностью построенный, - не говоря уже о том, что написаны первые 40,000 знаков текста), чтобы начать писать совсем другой (тоже на английском), потому что этот другой напал на меня и жрет меня гораздо сильнее (прямо скажем, совершенно невыносимо). Очень, очень много лет назад я написала на русском чудовищно плохой роман, такой плохой, что я его не издавала. Он был о том, как в стране, сперва начавшей, а потом проигравшей большую и страшную войну, девочка-подросток идет искать пропавшего младшего брата (в основе этого романа loosely, но узнаваемый, лежал сюжет "Снежной королевы"). И вот сейчас оно напало на меня (сама идея, - я уже не помню и не хочу помнить старый текст), и хочет быть срочно написано в качестве романа Look At the Birds of the Air, - не дает жить. И ничего не поделаешь, придется этим заняться.
