Аслан Габоев живет в селении Нижний Чегем. В этом году ему исполнилось 104 года. В один из приездов на парадром он изъявил желание полетать на параплане. Перед полетом организаторы посоветовались с лечащим врачом, он и подтвердил, что угроз нет.
Таким образом старейшина из Кабардино-Балкарии установил новый мировой рекорд — «наибольший возраст пассажира мотопараплана в мире». Прыжок он совершил в Чегемском ущелье вместе с Игорем Потапкиным, двукратным чемпионом мира по мотопарапланерному спорту.
Мировой рекорд организаторы приурочили к открытию первого этноотеля «Башня» на территории парадрома.
