Трамваи модели 71-412 с переменным уровнем пола, производимые входящим в концерн «Уралвагонзавод» предприятием, начали прибывать в город в декабре-2022. Первые машины вышли на маршруты в последние дни прошлого года. Новые вагоны не поступали во Владикавказ почти 30 лет. По данным городской администрации, уже прибыли 5 новых трамваев, а еще 23 единицы поступят в 1-м полугодии-2023.
Конкурс на закупку объявлялся в августе прошлого года, однако не состоялся из-за отсутствия заявок. Позднее, как сообщал «Интефакс», была проведена закупка у единственного поставщика общей стоимостью 1,72 млрд руб., контракт заключен с «Уралтрансмашем». Стоит отметить, что тогда анонсировалось приобретение 30 трамваев, однако сейчас власти города говорят о заказе на 28 машин.
