В рамках испытаний также должна быть оценена степень рентабельности использования данных накопителей. Предыдущие тесты проводились на учебном трамвайном вагоне модели ЛМ-68М, прошедшем модернизацию.
ПК ТС ранее указывала, что место для установки суперконденсаторов, снижающих затраты электроэнергии на тягу, предусмотрено в новых трамваях модели 71-932 «Невский».
