🇱🇧⚔ The Lebanese army took over the Sultan Yaqoub - Western Bekaa and Hashmish centers between the towns of Qusaya and Deir al-Ghazal - Central Bekaa, which were previously affiliated with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine - General Command. It also took over the Halwa - Rashaya camp, which was previously affiliated with the Fatah al-Intifada organization, and confiscated quantities of weapons and ammunition in addition to military equipment

Independent Syrian jihadists and even the HTS administration do not possess the same power the Assad regime had over Lebanon to control these Syrian-backed Palestinian groups in the refugee camps.
However, what will happen to Hezbollah-backed Al Qassam and Saraya al Quds? What about the Palestinian jihadi factions like Fatah al-Islam? What about Lebanese and Syrian Sunni jihadi factions? Will Joseph Aoun become president, strengthening the military in the face of Hezbollah and all other factions? Time will tell.
It's important to note that the Lebanese Islamic Group (Muslim Brotherhood) has backed both Hezbollah in its war against Israel as well as the Syrian rebels against the Assad regime. HTS and Lebanese Sunni prime minister Mikati (an anti-Christian force, infamously spreading the lie that Christians are 19% of the country) joining forces is also extremely dangerous for Christians. We are dealing with wild cards.

🇱🇧🇵🇸 The Lebanese army raises the Lebanese flag and the army flag at the Hashmash site after receiving it from the militants of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine - General Command
According to unconfirmed reports HTS units told locals to defend themselves as they are far too thinly spread out.
Talkalakh, Syria: Upon closer inspection it seems this rogue militia has called itself "Talkalakh Martyrs Battalion", having been established in the last week or so & unilaterally declaring itself part of HTS operations room.
In their videos they constantly claim to be part of the HTS operations room, & present their leader as "Hammoudi Layla", "Mahmoud Ismail" & more commonly known by the nickname "Abu Sulayman".
There is no indication anywhere that HTS has acknowledged this militia's self-identification as being part of its operations room or in any way related to it.
10 days ago civilians fleeing Talkalakh had claimed on video that this militant leader was behind lawlessness, robberies & expelling people from their homes, calling on HTS & "people of Tripoli" [Lebanon] to intervene.
In videos uploaded by this group on its page they are numerous & heavily armed, claiming to be "establishing checkpoints" and "ensuring security in the area".
They have a dedicated Facebook page where they constantly post updates, the earliest activity being from a week ago.
Video 2: Militia movement on Syrian-Lebanese border, 18th December 2024
Video 3: Talkalakh, Syria: Civilians flee from the city as local rebel militant leader in charge of the city is robbing people, expelling them from their homes, killing at random.
The woman says "every one is establishing his own state" & the commander "(...) is taking weapons to Lebanon". 13th December 2024, a week prior. She also calls on the people of Tripoli (Lebanon) to help.
Video 4: Statement released by Alawite locals declaring that an Alawite sheikh has been shot & wounded by militant group "Talkalakh Martyrs Battalion" earlier today & list other crimes & violations. Locals issue ultimatum to HTS of 24 hrs to re-establish security in area.

Aleppo province: An armed group impersonating a military unit stormed a house near a school in Manbij city in eastern Aleppo countryside, which is controlled by “ Dawn of Freedom” operations room. The group arrested a young man, took him to Al-Jazirah road and executed him with several gunshots, before fleeing to an unknown destination.
This coincided with a state of panic and resentment among residents amid the ongoing security chaos in the area.

Al-Husn is the main Sunni Muslim town in the area. During the civil war, its crusader castle and world heritage site was used by jihadists including foreigners crossing via Lebanon to fire on Christian villages it overlooked.

Reports suggest that the largest contingent is likely from Turkey, with a particularly notable concentration from the city of Bingöl, where over 600 individuals reportedly joined Jabhat al-Nusra (the predecessor of HTS) during its early formation.
Other fighters primarily consist of Kurdish militants from Iran and Iraq, while only a smaller fraction are believed to be Syrian Kurds.
One prominent Kurdish militant group active in Idlib province, HTS’s main stronghold during the Syrian conflict, was Ansar al-Islam—an Iraq-based Kurdish Salafi-jihadist organization.
