Самый лучший вариант генерации электричества для ЦОДа – АЭС. Это, кстати, уже сообразили в США, где старушек АЭС, не вписавшихся в рынок, перепрофилируют под нужды искусственного интеллекта. Впрочем, подобные эксперименты проводят и российские атомщики на Кольской АЭС. Быстро сообразили, к чему идет дело и власти Японии.
А вот правительства Италии и Германии, накануне наступления массовой эпохи дата-центров, закрыли все свои АЭС (и много кто еще в Европе). Таким образом, выбыв из шорт-листа для размещения ЦОДов крупных компаний (и военных). Всего лишь одно неправильно принятое решение, а какие последствия!
