Несколько десятков нонфикшн-книг о России (+СССР, РИ) вышло в 2024 году, не считая сугубо научных работ. Учитывая современные реалии, неудивительно, что большинство из них изданы на злобу дня, а также посвящены традиционному сонму тем, ассоциирующихся у англоязычных книгоиздателей со страной: Сталин, Путин, царизм, ГУЛАГ, войны, криминал, шпионы. Значительная часть из них не отличается оригинальностью или глубиной, но встречаются и достойные работы. Но в любом случае, печально это всё. Бывали годы с куда большим разнообразием тем. Почему 13? Ну потому что, к чему принципиальничать и гнаться за гладкими 10, 12 или 5, если из-за этого придется что-то интересное выкинуть? И да - все книги в списке «писательские», мемуаров нет.

Russia's intelligence agency had asked Durov to turn over the data of anti-Kremlin protesters. Durov refused to do so.
