اصرار بر اینکه عنوان انگلیسی «بایبل» را برای آن به کار ببریم به راستی عجیب است. چون بایبل صرفا معادل انگلیسی این واژه است. پس اگر بنابر تخصص‌گرایی هم باشد صورت یونانی لاتینی یعنی بیبلیا اصیل‌تر است. هرچند این واژه در کل یعنی کتاب و همان کتاب مقدس بهتر خواهد بود.
