До 13 лет о Вагнере я знал исключительно из любимейшей книги моего детства - 100 опер. Услышанные 2-3 увертюры в программах консерватории произвели на меня настолько ошеломляющее впечатление, что я стал искать по всем пластиночным магазинам Вагнера. Лишь через год мне попалась запись Риенци, которая стала первой вагнеровской оперой, услышанной мною, хоть и не целиком, а в сокращённой версии на двух пластах, выпущенных Мелодией. Через год, я учился тогда в 9 классе, я поехал, поднакопивши немного денег, что-то из оперных залежей покупать на Маяковке, и тут выкинули переиздание Гибели богов с Фуртом: у меня было только рублей шесть с собой (на 4 классических пластинки по 1-45), а оно стоило 7 - я уговорил оставить мне до утра, тк дело было ближе к закрытию, а утром приехал, боясь, что кому-то продадут. То, что произошло потом - сложно передать словами: я просто заболел Вагнером, стал доводить себя буквально до изнеможения, врубать всё это на полную катушку, приводить друзей и "мучать" их Гибелью богов.
