As wildfires rage in California, the U.S. has announced its final military aid package to Ukraine under the current administration. Here are the key details:

- California Wildfires: Los Angeles is currently experiencing devastating wildfires, with more than 1,000 homes destroyed and over 70,000 residents evacuated from the area. The fires, exacerbated by Santa Ana winds, have caused significant destruction, particularly in Malibu and Pacific Palisades. The situation has led to emergency declarations and has highlighted issues with local fire response capabilities, including inadequate water reserves for firefighting.

- U.S. Aid to Ukraine: Amidst the California fires, President Biden announced a $500 million military aid package to Ukraine. This comes as part of continued U.S. support against the backdrop of the ongoing conflict with Russia. This package is described as one of the last under Biden's administration before the transition of power, totaling the U.S. commitment to Ukraine to nearly $175 billion since the start of the war in February 2022.

The juxtaposition of these events has sparked criticism and discussions on social media and news platforms about prioritization of domestic versus international issues. Critics argue that while the U.S. is providing significant aid abroad, California's immediate crisis might not be receiving the attention or resources it needs. However, supporters of the aid to Ukraine see it as a strategic move to ensure geopolitical stability and to support a democratic ally against aggression.

This situation underscores the ongoing debate about U.S. foreign policy priorities, resource allocation, and emergency response to domestic crises like natural disasters.

The regulator said it has been undertaking several campaigns to educate the investors to be vigilant while taking investment decisions based on stock tips. What distinguishes the app from competitors is its use of what's known as channels: Public or private feeds of photos and videos that can be set up by one person or an organization. The channels have become popular with on-the-ground journalists, aid workers and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who broadcasts on a Telegram channel. The channels can be followed by an unlimited number of people. Unlike Facebook, Twitter and other popular social networks, there is no advertising on Telegram and the flow of information is not driven by an algorithm. The message was not authentic, with the real Zelenskiy soon denying the claim on his official Telegram channel, but the incident highlighted a major problem: disinformation quickly spreads unchecked on the encrypted app. Apparently upbeat developments in Russia's discussions with Ukraine helped at least temporarily send investors back into risk assets. Russian President Vladimir Putin said during a meeting with his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko that there were "certain positive developments" occurring in the talks with Ukraine, according to a transcript of their meeting. Putin added that discussions were happening "almost on a daily basis." Perpetrators of these scams will create a public group on Telegram to promote these investment packages that are usually accompanied by fake testimonies and sometimes advertised as being Shariah-compliant. Interested investors will be asked to directly message the representatives to begin investing in the various investment packages offered.
