The Russian invasion of Ukraine has been a driving force in markets for the past few weeks. Two days after Russia invaded Ukraine, an account on the Telegram messaging platform posing as President Volodymyr Zelenskiy urged his armed forces to surrender. In 2020, officials ordered Telegram to pay a fine of $18.5 million and hand back much of the cash that it had raised.
