«Не надейтесь избавиться от книг» — таково название книги диалогов Умберто Эко, которому сегодня исполнилось бы 93 года, и французского интеллектуала Жан-Клода Карьера, автора сценариев к шедеврам Годара и Бунюэля.
Мораль разговора такова: чем больше читаешь книг, тем больше их нужно прочитать. Этот процесс бесконечен. При этом у человека, испытывающего потребность в чтении, нет никаких шансов прочитать все, что он хотел бы прочитать. Это не значит, что непрочитанные книги зияют в нашем культурном багаже черными дырами: каждая важная непрочитанная книга влияет на нас опосредованно, через десятки других, испытавших ее влияние.
Памятуя об обширной библиографии Эко, а также о его библиотеке, в которой было по меньшей мере 50 тысяч (!) книг, кажется, мало у кого есть шанс освоить все его наследие…
Однако влияние на нас Эко все равно оказывает. Даже если мы его не читали. 🤍

Back in the day, Secret Chats received some praise from the EFF, but the fact that its standard system isn’t as secure earned it some criticism. If you’re looking for something that is considered more reliable by privacy advocates, then Signal is the EFF’s preferred platform, although that too is not without some caveats. Recently, Durav wrote on his Telegram channel that users' right to privacy, in light of the war in Ukraine, is "sacred, now more than ever." On February 27th, Durov posted that Channels were becoming a source of unverified information and that the company lacks the ability to check on their veracity. He urged users to be mistrustful of the things shared on Channels, and initially threatened to block the feature in the countries involved for the length of the war, saying that he didn’t want Telegram to be used to aggravate conflict or incite ethnic hatred. He did, however, walk back this plan when it became clear that they had also become a vital communications tool for Ukrainian officials and citizens to help coordinate their resistance and evacuations.
