نیما اناری از دانشگاه استنفورد، کویکویی لیو از مؤسسه فناوری ماساچوست، و شایان اویس قِران و سینتیا وینزانت از دانشگاه واشنگتن، جایزه مایکل و شیلا هِلد را از آکادمی ملی علوم (NAS) برای کار پیشگامانه در پیشبرد نظریه ماتروئیدها و نرخ اختلاط زنجیره‌های مارکوف دریافت خواهند کرد.
سینتیا وینزانت، عضو انجمن ریاضی آمریکا (AMS)، عضو شورای AMS و عضو کمیته سیاست علمی AMS است.
جایزه هِلد سالانه «به افتخار تحقیقات برجسته، نوآورانه، خلاقانه و تأثیرگذار در زمینه‌های بهینه‌سازی ترکیبی و گسسته، یا بخش‌های مرتبط علوم کامپیوتر، مانند طراحی و تحلیل الگوریتم‌ها و نظریه پیچیدگی» اهدا می‌شود. این جایزه همراه با ۱۰۰۰۰۰ دلار اهدا می‌شود. این مراسم در نشست سالانه NAS در ۲۷ آوریل ۲۰۲۵ به صورت زنده پخش خواهد شد. اطلاعات بیشتر را در شماره های بعدی خبرنامه خواهید خواند.

"The inflation fire was already hot and now with war-driven inflation added to the mix, it will grow even hotter, setting off a scramble by the world’s central banks to pull back their stimulus earlier than expected," Chris Rupkey, chief economist at FWDBONDS, wrote in an email. "A spike in inflation rates has preceded economic recessions historically and this time prices have soared to levels that once again pose a threat to growth." At the start of 2018, the company attempted to launch an Initial Coin Offering (ICO) which would enable it to enable payments (and earn the cash that comes from doing so). The initial signals were promising, especially given Telegram’s user base is already fairly crypto-savvy. It raised an initial tranche of cash – worth more than a billion dollars – to help develop the coin before opening sales to the public. Unfortunately, third-party sales of coins bought in those initial fundraising rounds raised the ire of the SEC, which brought the hammer down on the whole operation. In 2020, officials ordered Telegram to pay a fine of $18.5 million and hand back much of the cash that it had raised. Andrey, a Russian entrepreneur living in Brazil who, fearing retaliation, asked that NPR not use his last name, said Telegram has become one of the few places Russians can access independent news about the war. In December 2021, Sebi officials had conducted a search and seizure operation at the premises of certain persons carrying out similar manipulative activities through Telegram channels. "We're seeing really dramatic moves, and it's all really tied to Ukraine right now, and in a secondary way, in terms of interest rates," Octavio Marenzi, CEO of Opimas, told Yahoo Finance Live on Thursday. "This war in Ukraine is going to give the Fed the ammunition, the cover that it needs, to not raise interest rates too quickly. And I think Jay Powell is a very tepid sort of inflation fighter and he's not going to do as much as he needs to do to get that under control. And this seems like an excuse to kick the can further down the road still and not do too much too soon."
