🇹🇹🇺🇸🇻🇪Trinidad and Tobago denies agreement with the US to deploy troops against Venezuela
Trinidad and Tobago Prime Minister Keith Rowley has rejected statements suggesting an agreement with the United States to deploy troops on its territory against Venezuela as of January 1, 2025.
In this regard, Rowley stressed that this is a very serious matter. “If a country offers its territory for military troops against another, it is a very serious matter” and pointed out that this type of misinformation could harm bilateral relations with Venezuela.
The president clarified that the existing cooperation agreement with Washington is limited to training military personnel to respond to natural disasters and has no relation to Venezuela.

Anastasia Vlasova/Getty Images On February 27th, Durov posted that Channels were becoming a source of unverified information and that the company lacks the ability to check on their veracity. He urged users to be mistrustful of the things shared on Channels, and initially threatened to block the feature in the countries involved for the length of the war, saying that he didn’t want Telegram to be used to aggravate conflict or incite ethnic hatred. He did, however, walk back this plan when it became clear that they had also become a vital communications tool for Ukrainian officials and citizens to help coordinate their resistance and evacuations. "Like the bombing of the maternity ward in Mariupol," he said, "Even before it hits the news, you see the videos on the Telegram channels."
