9 февраля в ходе таможенного и пограничного контроля на пограничном таможенном посту «Айритом» сотрудники Сурхандарьинского областного таможенного управления обратили внимание на грузовой автомобиль, следовавший транзитом через территорию Узбекистана. В прицепе транспортного средства находилось 13,5 тонны веников, что вызвало подозрения у сотрудников.
По предварительным оценкам, стоимость наркотиков на чёрном рынке превышает $16,5 млн.
