По предварительным данным, численность постоянного населения Алтайского края на 1 января 2025 года составила 2 098 979 человек, что на 16 329 жителей меньше по сравнению с началом 2024 года, когда население региона насчитывало 2 115 308 человек, сообщает Алтайкрайстат.
В настоящее время более 1,23 миллиона жителей проживают в городах, тогда как сельская местность насчитывает свыше 866 тысяч человек.
С начала года и до октября 2024 года в Алтайском крае было зарегистрировано более 27 тысяч случаев смерти. При этом количество новорожденных в регионе оказалось вдвое меньше, чем число умерших, что привело к естественной убыли населения, составившей более 14 тысяч человек.
