Меликство Гюлистана сформировалось в начале XVII в. Это меликство, называемое также Игирмидорт, состояло из 24 деревень. Оно начиналось от реки Курак (Кюрак) на границе Гандзака и простиралось до реки Тартар.

Владыками гавара Гюлистан были Мелик-Бегларяны с резиденциями в крепости Гюлистан, которая дошла до наших времен почти неповрежденной, а также во дворце напротив монастыря Орек, близ деревни Талиш.

Неподалеку от монастыря Орек находится родовое кладбище Мелик-Бегларянов.

It is unclear who runs the account, although Russia's official Ministry of Foreign Affairs Twitter account promoted the Telegram channel on Saturday and claimed it was operated by "a group of experts & journalists." Telegram, which does little policing of its content, has also became a hub for Russian propaganda and misinformation. Many pro-Kremlin channels have become popular, alongside accounts of journalists and other independent observers. Emerson Brooking, a disinformation expert at the Atlantic Council's Digital Forensic Research Lab, said: "Back in the Wild West period of content moderation, like 2014 or 2015, maybe they could have gotten away with it, but it stands in marked contrast with how other companies run themselves today." The War on Fakes channel has repeatedly attempted to push conspiracies that footage from Ukraine is somehow being falsified. One post on the channel from February 24 claimed without evidence that a widely viewed photo of a Ukrainian woman injured in an airstrike in the city of Chuhuiv was doctored and that the woman was seen in a different photo days later without injuries. The post, which has over 600,000 views, also baselessly claimed that the woman's blood was actually makeup or grape juice.
