Эта фраза завирусилась в Доуине летом 2024 года благодаря канадскому блогеру 保保熊 с аудиторией более 577 тыс. подписчиков. За неделю он набрал более 100 тыс. подписчиков, а просмотры по хэштегу #city不city достигли отметки 100 млн.

Они идут по улице и спрашивают друг друга "city不city，啊?". На первый взгляд, эта фраза переводится как "городской или не городской?" Но на самом деле: "круто или не круто?" (кит. 洋不洋气). Так тренд распространился на весь Доуинь, и теперь все спрашивают — жарить барбекю круто или не круто, гулять по Синьцзяню круто или не круто и т.д.
