Сегодня Грузия отозвала свою делегацию из Парламентской ассамблеи Совета Европы (ПАСЕ).
Об этом сообщил Председатель Парламента Грузии Шалва Папуашвили во время заседания бюро парламента.
"Ожидаем, что Парламентская ассамблея Совета Европы вернется к своим первостепенным ценностям, которые основаны на уважении демократии и суверенитета", – заявил Папуашвили.
Ранее, 29 января глава делегации - вице-спикер Парламента Грузии Тея Цулукиани сообщила, что делегация Грузии в Парламентской ассамблее Совета Европы (ПАСЕ) временно прекращает работу.
Причина в том, что ПАСЕ приняла резолюцию с требованиями, которые Тбилиси считает неприемлемыми, в частности провести новые парламентские выборы, наказать ответственных за разгон митингов и освободить всех политзаключенных.
Премьер-министр Грузии Ираклий Кобахидзе решение поддержал. «В той ситуации, которую мы видим сейчас, работа в Парламентской ассамблее Совета Европы лишена всяческого смысла», — заявил он ещё 30 января.
