امام صادق علیه‌السلام می‌فرمایند: ما من امراة تسقی زوجها شربة من مآء الا کان خیرا لها من عبادة سنة صیام نهارها وقیام لیلها ویبنی الله لها بکل شربة تسقی زوجها مدینة فی الجنة وغفر لها ستین خطیئة؛
هر زنی که به شوهرش مقداری آب دهد، برای او بهتر از عبادت یک سال است که روزهایش روزه باشد و شب‌هایش عبادت کند. و خداوند به جای هر مقدار آبی که به شوهرش بنوشاند، شهری در بهشت برایش می‌سازد و شصت گناهش را می‌آمرزد.
