По словам председателя правительства Сахалинской области Алексея Белика, такой подход позволяет решать местные проблемы, которые более всего волнуют жителей островов.
Также отмечается, что в 2022 году подобным образом на Сахалине и Курилах было реализовано 40 проектов в 14 муниципалитетах. Всего же за время проведения инициативных проектов на территории островного региона с 2017 года претворено в жизнь 280 идей сахалинцев и курильчан.
