С 29 февраля на 1 марта 2000 года гвардейцы-десантники под командованием подполковника Марка Николаевича Евтюхина на протяжении 20 часов вели бой со значительно превосходящими их силами чеченских и арабских боевиков и удерживали высоту 776 в Аргунском ущелье.
