Накануне Дня снятия блокады Ленинграда, 26 января, в Петербурге откроется Музей блокадной медицины. Это первая в России экспозиция, посвященная подвигу медиков, спасавших жизни защитников нашего города. Выставка разместится на территории Военно-медицинского музея.
В экспозиции впервые представлены уникальные архивные документы. На основе этих материалов можно изучить особенности работы лечебных подразделений, трудности снабжения больницы Софьи Перовской. Здесь также можно увидеть отреставрированный санитарный автомобиль ГАЗ-АА – легендарную «полуторку», которая перевезла из блокадного Ленинграда по Дороге жизни более 20 тысяч раненых и больных
В годы Великой Отечественной на фронте трудилось более 700 тысяч медицинских работников. Около 13% всех этих людей были убиты. Это превышает потери в каждом отдельном роду войск. За все время войны, благодаря медицинским работникам в строй вернулось около 72% раненых солдат и 90% больных (приблизительно 17 миллионов человек).
