با این صورت‌بندی که احتمالا مد نظر دکارت بوده می‌توان گفت ادعای مغالطه بودن و #مصادره_بمطلوب بودن این گزاره که #دکارت فلسفه‌ی خود را بر آن بنا نهاد اشتباه‌ست.
اما یک نکته وجود دارد ، اگر بپذیریم در نیستی ، شک هم وجود ندارد ( که پذیرشش معقول‌ست ) ، پس می‌توان ادعا کرد « من صبح از خواب بیدار شدم ، پس هستم.» « من صبحانه خوردم ، پس هستم . » و می‌توان نتیجه گرفت « شک گرایی افراطی ، کاری عبث و بی‌هوده است و باید بپذیریم اگر به فکر پیشرفت معرفت هستیم باید برخی چیزها را چشم و گوش بسته بپذیریم . چیزهایی مثل وجود جهان خارج از ذهن ، اصلی که می‌شود تشکیک هایی بر آن ابزار کرد اما ثابت هم نشده که غلط‌ست ، هم چنین این فرض که « فقط مسائل تجربه پذیر ، می‌توانند شامل پژوهش علمی و عقلی شوند و ...»
