«Многие критикуют чекистов, мне тоже они не очень близки, но в условиях полураспада государственности мы не смогли построить эффективные демократические институты, и тогда за работу восстановления государства взялись чекисты. Они заявили, что готовы это сделать. В этом состояла их историческая миссия».
(Т.е. суть стратегии – мы, старые либералы, всё провалили, пусть за нас всё задуманное теперь сделают чекисты, которых мы либерально будем понемногу поправлять и руководить)
