من عادات العلّامة المرداوي في كتابه الحافل (الإنصاف)، أنه إذا تكلم على المسألة من المقنع أعقبَها بذكر جملة من الفروع الفقهية المناسبة لها، ويُعنون لها بقوله: فوائد. (وربما قال: فائدتان، أو فائدة) وكثيرٌ من هذه الفروع الفقهية -إن لم يكن جُلّها- مستفادٌ من (الفروع).
ومن هذه الفروع: ما جاء في (٣٥١/١٢)، قال: ومنها: لو أقرضَ مَن عليه بُر؛ يشتريه به ويُوفّيه إيّاه، فقال سفيان (هو ابن عيينة): مكروهٌ، أمرٌ بيّن. قال الإمام أحمد: حرُم. وأشار محققُه في الحاشية إلى أنه في الأصل: جوّد. قلت: ما أشار إليه في الأصل هو الصواب، كما جاء في (الفروع)، ومن عاداته التصرفُ في النقل والاختصار. ونصُّ عبارة الإمام أحمد - كما جاءت في مسائل ابن منصور (٢٢٣٩) - : أجادَ أبو محمد. يعني: سفيان بن عيينة، رحمة الله على الجميع.
