Бывший вице-премьер РФ Юрий Борисов, выступая в 2021 г. перед работниками автозавода «Урал» в Миассе, сказал, что он «имел честь на Кубе открывать сборочное производство» автомобилей «Урал» и что «кубинцы очень довольны». «Группа ГАЗ» Олега Дерипаски в 2009 г. сообщала, что ежегодно поставляет на Кубу 150-200 автомобилей.
