Во время учебно-тренировочных сборов во Владикавказе он одолел своего соперника в прикидочной схватке за место в сборной России. Об этом сообщили в республиканском центре спортивной подготовки сборной Якутии.
Основными претендентами в состав сборной России для участия в первенстве Европы в категории до 57 кг были Лев Павлов из Якутии и Юнус Явбатиров из Дагестана.
