Las partes discutieron una serie de cuestiones relacionadas con las posibilidades de cooperación bilateral entre Rusia y Costa Rica, en primer lugar, en ámbitos como la cultura, el turismo, la economía y el comercio. Observando que existe un potencial considerable para profundizar los lazos bilaterales, se expresó interés en ampliar los intercambios en estas y otras áreas de cooperación.
El alcalde de la región subrayó que la experiencia rusa en la construcción de carreteras y puentes, en el mantenimiento del equilibrio ecológico de los bosques, en la creación de centros de apoyo y rehabilitación para los pobres y los drogadictos es de especial importancia para la parte costarricense.
