Парламент Южной Кореи в результате голосования 14 декабря поддержал импичмент президента страны Юн Сок Ёля.
В поддержку импичмента голосовали 204 депутата из 300, против были 85. Голосование было тайным. Результаты голосования означают, что отстранение президента от власти поддержали и ряд депутатов от пропрезидентской партии.
Это была вторая попытка голосования за импичмент, во время первой голосов за отстранение Юн Сок Ёля не хватило.
Теперь президент должен быть временно отстранён от должности. У Конституционного суда будет 180 дней, чтобы определить, лишить ли его должности окончательно или же восстановить его полномочия. Пока обязанности президента будет исполнять премьер-министр.
Вопрос об импичменте был поднят в парламенте после того, как 3 декабря Юн Сок Ёль объявил о введении военного положения ради борьбы с внутренними сторонниками КНДР.
