In the Beta version of Telegram for Android, you can now apply animated effects from emojis or stickers before sending a message.
When the recipient opens such a message, they will see a corresponding full-screen animation, and an emotion assigned to the effect will be displayed next to the message's timestamp.
To apply an animation to a message, press and hold the "Send" button and select the desired effect from the appearing panel. Note that this feature is only available in private chats.
By default, users have access to only 6 emoji effects from the list. To unlock additional options, including sticker animations, a Telegram Premium subscription is required.
Previously, the concept of this idea was presented in a contest for creating demo videos about non-existent Telegram features. Ultimately, the concept inspired Pavel Durov and led to the implementation of new effects in Telegram.

The next bit isn’t clear, but Durov reportedly claimed that his resignation, dated March 21st, was an April Fools’ prank. TechCrunch implies that it was a matter of principle, but it’s hard to be clear on the wheres, whos and whys. Similarly, on April 17th, the Moscow Times quoted Durov as saying that he quit the company after being pressured to reveal account details about Ukrainians protesting the then-president Viktor Yanukovych. DFR Lab sent the image through Microsoft Azure's Face Verification program and found that it was "highly unlikely" that the person in the second photo was the same as the first woman. The fact-checker Logically AI also found the claim to be false. The woman, Olena Kurilo, was also captured in a video after the airstrike and shown to have the injuries. The original Telegram channel has expanded into a web of accounts for different locations, including specific pages made for individual Russian cities. There's also an English-language website, which states it is owned by the people who run the Telegram channels. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a video message on Tuesday that Ukrainian forces "destroy the invaders wherever we can." But Kliuchnikov, the Ukranian now in France, said he will use Signal or WhatsApp for sensitive conversations, but questions around privacy on Telegram do not give him pause when it comes to sharing information about the war.
