في ١٦ فبراير من عام ١٩٨٥، الموافق لذكرى استشهاد أحد أبرز مؤسسي حزب الله، الشيخ راغب حرب، أعلن التنظيم، الذي كان يُهمس باسمه سرًّا والذي سُمّي لاحقًا بـ”حزب الله”، عن بيانه التأسيسي المعنون “رسالة مفتوحة للمستضعفين”، وذلك من على منبر حسينية الشياح، إحدى مناطق الضاحية الجنوبية لبيروت. في هذا البيان، أوضح حزب الله تصوراته حول الوضع داخل لبنان وخارجه، خاصة تجاه أمريكا وإسرائيل وفرنسا وحزب الكتائب المسيحي، واصفًا إياهم بـ”أئمة الكفر”. كما بيّن موقفه العدائي تجاه الولايات المتحدة، مستمدًا نهجه من الثورة الإسلامية، حيث قال: “إننا متوجهون لمحاربة المنكر من جذوره، وأول جذوره أمريكا”. وعلى هذا الأساس، ركّز الحزب الناشئ على المواجهة، مؤكدًا: “رأينا أن العدوان لا يُردّ إلا بالتضحيات، والكرامة لا تكون إلا ببذل الدماء”. واستمرارًا في هذا النهج، قدّم حزب الله، في ذكرى استشهاد الشيخ راغب حرب وإعلان تأسيسه، أمينه العام السيد عباس الموسوي شهيدًا، وفي الشهر نفسه، عام ٢٠٠٨، قدّم قائده العسكري المؤسس عماد مغنية، الذي اغتيل أيضًا. وفي هذا الشهر ستُوارى جثامين أمينيه العامَّين السابقين الثرى.

Telegram has become more interventionist over time, and has steadily increased its efforts to shut down these accounts. But this has also meant that the company has also engaged with lawmakers more generally, although it maintains that it doesn’t do so willingly. These administrators had built substantial positions in these scrips prior to the circulation of recommendations and offloaded their positions subsequent to rise in price of these scrips, making significant profits at the expense of unsuspecting investors, Sebi noted. Telegram users are able to send files of any type up to 2GB each and access them from any device, with no limit on cloud storage, which has made downloading files more popular on the platform. The next bit isn’t clear, but Durov reportedly claimed that his resignation, dated March 21st, was an April Fools’ prank. TechCrunch implies that it was a matter of principle, but it’s hard to be clear on the wheres, whos and whys. Similarly, on April 17th, the Moscow Times quoted Durov as saying that he quit the company after being pressured to reveal account details about Ukrainians protesting the then-president Viktor Yanukovych. At its heart, Telegram is little more than a messaging app like WhatsApp or Signal. But it also offers open channels that enable a single user, or a group of users, to communicate with large numbers in a method similar to a Twitter account. This has proven to be both a blessing and a curse for Telegram and its users, since these channels can be used for both good and ill. Right now, as Wired reports, the app is a key way for Ukrainians to receive updates from the government during the invasion.
