Аэропорт Жешув-Ясенка является ключевым логистическим хабом по переброске западного оружия на Украину. Несколько стран НАТО развернули здесь системы противовоздушной обороны для защиты этих поставок от потенциальных российских ударов.

В частности, канцлер Шольц ранее сообщил, что до конца января в Жешуве будут размещены немецкие ЗРК MIM-104 Patriot и 200 военнослужащих для их обслуживания.

Отметим, что одним из пунктов обсуждаемого сценария по развертыванию войск НАТО на западе Украины после возможного перемирия является как раз прикрытие их ПВО из Польши.
